Balancing Life as a Mom and Aesthetician Through Healthy Living
If someone asked me 5 years ago where I saw myself today, I probably wouldn’t have said “juggling motherhood and running my own aesthetic practice.” But here I am—doing both, and surprisingly, more than surviving most days!
Let me introduce myself. I'm a devoted wife, mom to two amazing kids and a passionate aesthetician. I spend my days helping people feel confident in their skin, and my evenings (and early mornings) making sure my children are loved, fed, and tucked in with bedtime stories and cuddles. It’s a beautiful chaos. But I’ll be honest—it’s not always easy, even with the help of my husband.
Like many working moms, I used to feel stretched thin, trying to give 100% to my family and 100% to my career. Eventually, I realized that something had to change—not my career, not my role as a mother—but how I was caring for myself in the process.
That’s when I began my journey into healthy living.

Prioritizing My Health Without the Guilt
As women, especially moms, we’re often told that taking time for ourselves is selfish. But I learned (sometimes the hard way) that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s survival. The better I feel physically and emotionally, the better I show up for my family and my clients.
One of my favorite ways to take care of myself is through skin care products and some facial treatments. As an aesthetician, I know the science behind them, but I also know how amazing they make my skin feel. It’s not just about looking good—though that’s a nice bonus—it’s about feeling refreshed, hydrated, and confident. When my skin glows, I feel like I can take on anything—from toddler tantrums to back-to-back client appointments.
My Daily Wellness Rituals
I also started incorporating doTERRA VMG+, EO Megas, Probiotics, Meta PWR Collagen & Electrolytes into my daily routine. Let me tell you—it’s been a game-changer. It’s not just for skin health (though my complexion loves it). I’ve noticed a difference in my energy, my focus, and even how quickly I recover from the long days. I mix VMG+ into my morning glass of water & MetaPWR Advantage Collagen & Electrolytes into my afternoon drink, and it’s become this little ritual that signals, “Okay, today we’re going to feel good.”
Essential oils are another staple in my home. I use them for everything—boosting my mood, helping me relax at night, even helping my children wind down before bed. A few drops in a diffuser can completely shift the vibe in my house after a hectic day. Shinrin-Yoku and Serenity are two of my favorites, but I’m always experimenting with blends.
One of the things that’s helped me stay grounded—both physically and mentally—is attending Bar Method classes here in Honolulu. I try to go at least once or twice a week, and it’s become such a vital part of my routine.
If you’ve never tried Bar before, let me tell you—it’s no walk in the park, but it’s incredibly empowering. It’s a full-body workout that combines elements of ballet, Pilates, and strength training, all focused on small, controlled movements that leave your muscles shaking (in the best way). But more than just the physical challenge, it gives me something that’s just for me.
As a mom and business owner, I spend a lot of time giving to others. The hour I spend in class is my time to reconnect with my body, clear my head, and push myself in a way that feels really fulfilling. The Bar Method Honolulu studio has such a warm, supportive vibe—I walk in and instantly feel a sense of calm and community. Plus, I leave every class standing taller, both literally and figuratively.
Bar has helped improve my posture, core strength, and flexibility—all things that make a difference in my day-to-day life, whether I’m giving facials or chasing after my little ones. And let's be honest, it's also helped me feel stronger in my own skin, which matters just as much.
Balance Isn’t Perfect—And That’s Okay
Here’s the truth: there is no such thing as perfect balance. Some days, I’m an amazing aesthetician. Some days, I’m just trying to get through bedtime without losing my cool. But when I prioritize my health—inside and out—I have more patience, more energy, and more joy in both roles.
Being a mom has made me a more compassionate aesthetician, and being an aesthetician reminds me to take care of the woman behind the mom.
So, to all the fellow multitasking moms out there—remember that taking care of yourself is part of taking care of your family. Whether it’s a 10-minute skincare routine, a scoop of collagen in your smoothie, or a moment of calm with essential oils, those little things add up. You deserve to feel good, too. Here’s to glowing skin, full hearts, and embracing the beautiful balance of it all.
